It’s no secret there exist a strong anti-steroidal population and as this “anti” feeling is often so emotionally based it can produce some laughable claims. If you’ve been around the performance enhancing game for any length of time you’re familiar with all the names and acronyms so this will probably make you laugh. Yes, there are a few street names for steroids such as juice or roids but those are some very generic terms and really don’t point to anything specific. We went to a handful of the anti-steroid websites so desperate to paint anabolic hormones in a bad light and they have made up their own street names for steroids that are quite humorous and they include “Pumpers, Gym Candy, Arnolds, Stackers, Balls and Bulls, A’s, Weight Trainers.” “Weight Trainers” are you serious, Arnolds? If that didn’t make you laugh a little then you don’t have a sense of humor but the sad truth is these websites are real and many of them are funded by your government.
One of the unexpected events that followed the release of this book was the anger and outrage it spawned. I received a large volume of hate mail, filled with threats and animosity, from psychotherapists. Rather than disagreement or discourse, these mental health professionals were protective of their favored theories and outraged that anyone should disagree with their belief systems. This level of bias is unfortunately common enough that it is one of the primary reasons people do not receive objective diagnoses and effective treatments. By the way, since 1987 it seems that the number of abductions has declined significantly.
74 Secondly, this case is yet another of those all too frequent cases where, in order to impose a proper sentence on the Respondent, this Court has had to choose between the unfairness of unequal treatment of co-offenders and the injustice to the community of acquiescing in a second manifestly inadequate sentence because the Director of Public Prosecutions, while appealing in the case of the Respondent elected, or was not sufficiently organised, to appeal in the case of a co-offender. As the Respondent and Sayadi were both arrested on the same day and sentenced by the same judge some 2 weeks apart it is inconceivable that the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions was not aware of the relationship between them. In that situation it is impossible to see any rational explanation for the bringing of an appeal in one case and not in the other.
